Suggest and vote on the User Summit unconference sessions
The User Summit is driven by you: besides regular conference sessions led by end users, we invite you to suggest a more open-ended unconference session and vote on other's suggestions. Two sessions will be selected for each day. As you check in, you'll be given sticky notes for recording your unconference ideas. While you'll be asked to act as the convener for the session, providing a vision for how it works, you won't be expected to speak the whole time or have a prepared presentation. The unconference is an opportunity for open-ended discussion, new ideas, skill sharing, and directions... Read more

A community developed form builder with CiviCRM integration for WordPress
Caldera Forms is a free plugin for WordPress that allows users to create sophisticated forms on their website. Over this past summer Andrei Mondoc, a CiviCRM community member, developed a plugin that integrates Caldera Forms and CiviCRM. We can create a form in WordPress and the data is processed in CiviCRM. Prior to this integration being available, creating complex forms in WordPress would require custom development or a paid plugin. In this workshop we will explore some ways in which this integration can be used on your website to capture contact details and engage with your audience.... Read more

How we decided between could and should with CiviCRM customization
CiviCRM has an extremely powerful and flexible feature set. Simply going down the list and checking the “I need this box” may not lead to the best results. In an organization with diverse audiences and goals, balancing customization for an individual need with universality can be a challenge. This talk will discuss some of the choices WISCIENCE at UW Madison and BackOffice Thinking navigated in striking this balance.

Hint: don't use CiviGrant
Most nonprofits deal with grants one way or another: as grantmakers, grantseekers, or both. CiviCRM can help you manage both, but CiviGrant is oriented for grantmakers. For grantseekers, you'll learn how the best way to manage the process is to use a combination of activities, pledges, contributions, and campaigns. We'll integrate these features of CiviCRM to give you the tools for tracking grant opportunities, communications, and payments.
